Mercy at Your Feet

When I’m bound

With no release

I find mercy at your feet

When the walls

Of this mortal room are closing in

Your grace covers all my sin

It’s a tiny cell and my sins bounce back to me

There isn’t a corner that you don’t swept clean

Rushing waters, roaring fires, collide and dissipate in the light of your amazing grace

It’d be game over but you say “I’m not done”

It’d be curtain call but you say “you’re called”

Heart iced over, thawed, and overflowing again

There isn’t a piece left that you won’t take for your own end

I try to understand and you say don’t

Just be here for this proud God moment

The moment I use to make all things new

Including the life energy infusing you

I don’t need to understand to trust you

I’m in awe of the workings of your hand

It’s beyond my capacity to comprehend

I give you my struggle

I surrender my plea

I find mercy at your feet
