Nothing

I can’t leave, but it hurts to stay

This world wasn’t made

for creatures like me

They see me and say, “You’re really something.”

I exist inside a constellation of needs

Dressed up real nice

It’s society

If they don’t value me

Does that make me nothing?

I see so much. I feel so much.

What can I do? But keep showing up.

Keep growing up.

I work so hard

I dig so deep

to be valued

to be someone worthy

But deep inside

Where they don’t see

I feel like nothing

I fear I’m nothing

I see so much. I feel so much.

What can I do? But keep showing up.

Keep growing up.
