Pedestals

With all these shadows around

The sky tumbling down

That’s when I first saw the light in your eyes

I lifted you up because it made me feel strong 

I held you above me

A temporary god 

When pedestals crumble 

When pedestals crumble 

The tumble is long 

Flaws magnified under the microscope of disenchantment 

Dreams unraveling, cooling to embers of disappointment

Each wondering where the other one went 

These pedestals are just so impermanent
