New Song: Fool’s Gold
Hey, my first song of 2023 has been born!
This song was inspired by Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Manifestation is such a popular topic these days in pop spirituality.
I get the appeal…but I have realized I don’t always know what’s best for me. In fact, I have very little idea unless I surrender, moment by moment, into God’s grace.
So why would I try to manifest something?
If I’m trying to do life on my own terms or run away from God’s lessons, even if I get what I want, it ends up hurting.
The truth is, what my soul really wants has nothing to do with what the outer world can provide. It’s an inner state of peace and blessing. It’s feeling in harmony. It’s giving up the show. Opening to a greater flow.
When it comes down to it, chasing after outer stuff just makes you want more, or make you sick. It’s an endless pit.
So this song was born from the idea of choosing longevity & stability over the endless cravings of the ego.
Fool’s Gold
I’ve never been a planner
No, I never got the hang of that
Thrown it all to the wind so many times
Hardly looking back
The world tells me
I can have it all
And I deserve it too
They can keep their fool’s gold, oh.
They can keep their fool’s gold
I’m seeing it through with you
Your plan is better
Than anything I could manifest
Your plan is to save me
My plans just make a mess
Your plan is greater
Than this human dream
Your plan is life and love
And harmony
The world tells me
I can have it all
And I deserve it too
They can keep their fool’s gold, oh.
They can keep their fool’s gold
I’m seeing it through with you
I’ve seen their storyline through
I’m not giving up. I’m not giving up.
I’m not giving up on you.
They can keep their fool’s gold, oh.
They can keep their fool’s gold
I’m seeing it through with you
